Delicious Wood Fired Cuisine on the banks of the river Stour in Canterbury
The influences of Provence in southern France, Italy and the Pacific rim blend beautifully to create a modern cuisine with a Mediterranean heart. Many of our unique and addictive dishes are cooked in our wood burning oven which is sustainably fuelled from locally sourced managed woodlands.
Exciting Creative Food Restaurant Canterbury

Cafe du Soleil is situated beside the river Stour in Canterbury occupying a former 18th century wool store.  The restaurant is accessed by its own bridge over the river. The building was restored with a grant from English Heritage and it now showcases the extensive use of reclaimed building material from the 14C city wall.

Our sister restaurant, Cafe des Amis, offers an enticing and addictive range of Mexican dishes, served in a vibrant atmosphere, and is located just 150 meters away on the other side of the river facing the historic Westgate Towers.
